Today is the day,
When all things change,
They straighten and prosper,
Somehow rearrange.
When we play in this city,
We somehow grow,
We learn from the how's,
But we still never know.
We may iron the kinks,
But our names will remain,
A brush in the fire,
An ash in the flame.
To bring light to this darkness,
And dark to this light,
You may struggle and dissolve,
But don't you EVER give up the fight!

Like Whoa
Just like the song,
Your love is like whoa,
Your eyes shine in the night,
Handsome from head to toe.
That thing that you do,
You know, with your brow,
It makes me laugh,
Your love is like POW!
Your the man of my dreams,
Your smile is like Zing,
Your dimples don't only glow,
They make me sing.
I can't put into words,
My feelings for you,
I'm busy eating Pickles,
Ill pour Creamed Corn on your shoe.
So go build me a set,
Write a screenplay,
Put up a shelf,
"Babe! Not that way!"
You are far from the norm,
And I call you mine,
My man sent from whoknowswhere*,
And you are so fine.

The Bradbury Girls (double feature)
For a sweet little girl,
Who in all of her glory,
Stands four foot four,
And is petite as can be.
It's really amazing,
How one little girl,
Can trick you and treat you,
With a quick little twirl.
She'll hold your hand,
She loves to play,
She's always smiling,
She'll brighten your day!
But if you're not careful,
She'll make you drop,
With one quick motion,
Beware of the karate chop!
If you don't see it coming,
Blinded by twinkling eyes,
And the sweet little freckles,
You are in for a surprise.
So don't upset her,
Or get too close,
Because these are the things,
That Grace loves most.
So if you happen to see,
This ninja in disguise,
As a sweet little muffin,
All run for your lives!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A point of her foot,
A plie in time,
The bar to her right,
She does this all fine.
She loves to make up,
A dance here and there,
She spins round in circles,
Puts buns in her hair.
All's fine and dandy,
But the truth comes on out,
When she hears that Irish music,
The real Emma comes out!
When she jigs and she reels,
In those soft Irish shoes,
She glides over water,
She'll get rid of your blues.
And when the time comes,
For Treble Jiggin away,
She breaks out the hard shoes,
Any time, any day.
To see this gal dance,
Is more than a treat,
Thank goodness God gave her,
Those awesome Irish feet.
Who in all of her glory,

Day Worry
I had the sax,
And the trumpet,
I had a guitar,
And the drum set.
I had the symbols,
And the bass,
I had the costumes,
Made from lace.
I had the music,
All in time,
I had the audience,
All in line.
I told my band,
"Be ready at five,
Drink lots of water,
And for pete's sake, look alive!"
It was almost six when,
Something was not right,
The audience wanted in,
And they started to fight!
It dawned on me then,
My band wasn't late,
I messed everything up,
I had the wrong date!!
(For my Dad)
And the trumpet,
I had a guitar,
And the drum set.
I had the symbols,

Please Do Not Feed the Animals
I had half a glass of water,
My friend had one half too,
That bright and sunny morning,
While hangin at the zoo.
A monkey tapped my shoulder,
I handed him some bread,
He took my glass of water,
And he poured it on my head!
The elephant looked thirsty,
So we gave him the other half,
Turns out all he wanted,
Was to give my friend a bath!
We thought that we were helping,
Those animals at the zoo,
That bright and sunny morning,
But I guess we had no clue!
My friend had one half too,
That bright and sunny morning,
While hangin at the zoo.
A monkey tapped my shoulder,

Sundays
A game is a game no matter the sport,
And it should remain this way.
A knife is as sharp as the sharpeners block,
It doesn't matter what you say.
So take it for granted, take it to heart,
It doesn't matter to me.
But if you don't trust that a game is a game,
The tip of the knife you'll not see.
(no football fans were injured during the writing of this poem)
And it should remain this way.
A knife is as sharp as the sharpeners block,
It doesn't matter what you say.
So take it for granted, take it to heart,

Nothing, Simply Nothing, is Missing.
He sat in a field of blue wild flowers,
Just on the cusp of bloom.
Sunshine showers poured over the day,
Misting the field with gloom.
Something was missing in this beautiful field,
He just couldn't figure out what.
And while he sat up to decipher the faults,
It poked him right in the butt.
A child was running in circles with stones,
With no inhibitions at all.
Laughing and throwing these tiny rare rocks,
Right back up after the fall.
He realized why gloom had come with such beauty,
For he complicated this place.
Instead of letting the field be a field,
And enjoying the rain on his face.
He relearned a lot from that child that day,
To just take the simple as is.
Take life's giving gifts one give a time,
Just let it be what it is.
As we get older we forget the child,
We all aspire to be.
There was nothing missing in that beautiful day,
He had just forgotten to live simply.
We all have that child inside of our hearts,
The one we used to know.
Lets all run in circles with rare little stones,
Run free as we happily grow.
Just on the cusp of bloom.
Sunshine showers poured over the day,
Misting the field with gloom.
Something was missing in this beautiful field,
He just couldn't figure out what.
And while he sat up to decipher the faults,

The Pill
Something beautiful was in my head,
I dreamt a dream of crimson red,
And tan colored ribbons spiraled round,
Until it wrapped up his body and pulled him to the ground.
When I awoke I wrote it all down,
And shared it with my class when we all gathered round,
I turned my dream into a play,
The most terrifying piece I have seen to this day.
And not because of the masks or the lights,
But because of the reason I dreamt it that night.
The boy that was happy was given a drug,
By his parents, none-the-less, to make him all numb.
They were very busy people you see,
And they didn't have any time for young Lee,
They blurred out his toys, put a book in his face,
And instead of friends, TV took their place.
Summer after summer he never played sports,
He never laughed, never ate, but he did do his chores,
Uppers and downers and middies for lunch,
His head Counselor at camp had a hunch.
Well, he was in the army, he had been captain,
Dealing with medicinal drugs while in action,
He knew what was what and that this was not right,
And so he stood his ground and was willing to fight.
The very next morning Lee went for his meds,
He was given placebos to spare his poor head.
The very busy parents had not been told.
And from five different doctors were these drugs doled.
Soon after Lee's "Mission Be Happy Survive",
He started to smile, play, be alive!
"A frisbee? O man, I can throw that!,
Gimme a chance! Hey, my turn at bat!"
This story means more to me than one will ever know,
So much so, that I turned it into a show,
But I couldn't help it, it came right out of my head,
That one beautiful Crimson and Tan night in my bed.
I dreamt a dream of crimson red,
And tan colored ribbons spiraled round,
Until it wrapped up his body and pulled him to the ground.

Bagels and Gymcheese
Must get my gym in motion,
Before my muscles turn to potion,
A potion only one can see,
As a donut filled with grape jelly.
For when its time to eat my greens,
I eat them up with yum yum dreams,
And when it comes to the chocolate cookie,
I might as well just glue it to my tushie.
Before my muscles turn to potion,
A potion only one can see,
As a donut filled with grape jelly.
For when its time to eat my greens,
I eat them up with yum yum dreams,
And when it comes to the chocolate cookie,
I might as well just glue it to my tushie.
