I paint these portraits you see.
I haven't painted for seventeen years,
But you have inspired me.
I'm writing a character with you in mind,
I started three years ago,
I haven't picked up a pen in two,
My mind's been a little slow.
I think I may run the marathon this year,
I decided when you said "Hi",
I have been sitting in this chair for six months now,
And that is no way to get by.
To the people who inspire and allow me to grow,
I thank you with all of my love,
There are moments in life where I go under, you see,
It is people like you who keep me above.
